“Cold-pressed” is printed on a lot of labels. Here’s what it actually means, and why we build our entire process around it.

The problem with heat

Conventional juicing spins blades at high speed, generating heat and whipping oxygen into the juice. Vitamin C and several B vitamins are heat-sensitive — some studies show meaningful losses within minutes of high-speed processing.

What a press does differently

A hydraulic press crushes produce slowly, with almost no heat and minimal oxygen exposure. The result:

  • Higher retention of heat-sensitive vitamins
  • Slower oxidation, so the juice stays vibrant longer
  • More complete extraction from leafy greens like kale and spinach

What it doesn’t do

Honesty matters here: cold-pressing doesn’t make a juice magical. It preserves what the produce already had — which is why ingredient quality is the variable that matters most. A cold-pressed juice from tired produce is still a tired juice.

The Vitality standard

Every bottle is pressed within 24 hours of harvest and never heat-treated. That window is the whole game: nutrients are highest at harvest and decline from there.

The short version? Cold-pressed matters — but fresh and cold-pressed is the combination worth paying for.
